focused on transforming the Mount Elgon region of Eastern Uganda into a global hub for specialty Arabica coffee processing, roasting, and export. Mount Elgon is internationally recognized for producing some of Africa’s finest Arabica coffee due to its rich volcanic soils, high altitudes, and favorable climate. However, much of the coffee produced in the region is exported in raw form, limiting the income potential for farmers and the broader local economy. Elgon Kawa Park was established to address this challenge by introducing modern processing infrastructure, value addition, and direct access to international markets.
